990812 Seattle W. T. August 9th 1889 To The Honorable The Mayor, and Common Council of City of Seattle, King Co. W..T. Gentlemen We, The undersigned Property Owners and Contractors on Front St feeling the great inconvenience in getting room to place material for the erection of our Buildings, all the available space being monopolized by the cable Car Corp. would hereby beg you to have the cable lines south of Union St closed (by request or otherwise) until such time as. Front St can be rebuilt if such a step is not taken, it will be almost impossible to carry on our Buildings, and we believe will thus greatly retard the progress of our city. Trusting you will give this matter your Early and Careful consideration We have the Honor to be Gentlemen, Respectfully yours
