To the Honorable May and Council of
the City of Seattle/Wash.
Gentlemen:-

Whereas the fire occuring on the morning of July 31st
1891, proves the constant danger menacing the most costly buildings
our business district from blocks of flame structures exposing
same, therefore:-
We the undersigned do hereby petition your most honor-
able body to extend the fire limits as follows
Commencing at the point of the intersection of Yesler
Ave and South Fifth Street, running East along the center line of
Yesler Ave to the intersection of Yesler Ave and South Sixth
Street. Thence South along the center line of South Sixth Street
to the intersection of South Sixth and Jackson Streets.
Thence West along the center line of Jackson Street to the intersection
of Jackson and South Fifth Streets.
