An eighteen feet lift was taken but the
pumps had to be primed before water was raised
for some time a good stream was thrown but
there is apparently something wrong with one of
the pumps and another examination is being
made. The Waterous Engine Works Co have
been notified and the probabilities are that
good service will not be had until the new
valves arrive.
I would recommend the purchase of two horses and
a set of harnesses for Chemincal Engine No 2 and
that two additional men be put on.
In the accompanying estimate for expenses for
August provisions are made seperately for
the above.
The fire boat Snoqualmie was scorched at a
fire on the 26th there appears to have been
poor management but I have not made a
thorough investigation yet.
