To the honorable the city council
of the city of Seattle, Gentlemen. I
the petitioner Ellsworth W Farrand
of this city doing business on Second
Street near Washington. The undersigned
gentlemen of good standing, respectfully
ask your permission to allow a small
awning, eight feet long to remain where
it is placed, attached to the building
with small secure, the business for
which the awning was erected is not on
the street, but on private property which
I have rented.can not be carried on
without a shade from conversation with
Mr Buchanon & some of the city officers
Inferred that any person had
the right to put up an awning, but
no wooden structure: without a
permit from the council. I therefore
ask your honorable body of councilmen
to allow the awning to remain & your
petitioner will even pray.
