Peterson & Pennefather Attorneys and Counselors at Law Fred H Peterson R H J Pennefather Offices Third Street, Cherry and James Entrance South of "The Russell" 27 - Sept. 1889 To the [Hon?] New Common Council of Seattle Gentlemen: Your petitioner respectfully represents that he is the Contactor on the grade of Sixth Street between Pike and Spring Streets; that the contract time expires on the first day of October; but it has been impossible to get lumber at any price for the sidewalks on said Street; petitioner made a contract for the lumber over a month past and has not been able to get it and will not get it until about October first - Your petitioner is therefore compelled to request that your honorable body pass an order extending the time for the performance of said grading contract for one month, to wit: until the 1st day of November next Your petitioner asks that this reasonable request be granted and such order made John Kalberg
