Seattle Sept 12th 1889
To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Seattle.
Your petitioner would
respectfully state that he is the owner
and propriator of the Grotto Saloon
situated on Front Street in the City of
Seattle. Was on the first day of January
A.D. 1889. granted a liquor license by
your honorable body for which he paid
into the funds of the City of Seattle the
sum of six hundred (600) dollars. He
would further state that on Thursday
September 10th 1889 he closed his saloon
and does not intend to reopen same
or transact any business under said
license from and after this date.
He therefore prays your honorable body
will order to be remitted to him the sum
of One hundred and fifty (150) Dollars, said
amount being one quarter inexpired
on said license.
