THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE:

We, the undersigned petitioners, residents of the
City of Seattle, most respectfully petition your Honorable Body
to establish street lights on Lincoln Street at the intersection
of Gould Street and Johnson Avenue; on Aldine Street at the inter-
section of Johnson Avenue
, Gould and Chicago Streets]]; on Drexel
Avenue
at the intersection of Gould and Chicago Streets, and on
Carroll Street at the intersections of Johnson Avenue, Division
Street and Highland Avenue
; in all ten lamps; respectfully repre-
senting that the same are all on graded streets which are compara-
tively thickly settled, except the one at the intersection of Car-
roll Street and Highland Avenue
, Carroll Street being on the line
of the Madrone Park Street Cars, and that large numbers of passen-
gers leave the cars at the points designated on said street after
nightfall, the darkness engendering great discomfort and danger.
