the City Council of Seattle

Gentlemen
Your petitioner James Lowdon
respectfully showeth that he
has bgeen a licensed retailer of
[spitrus] and malt liquors for more
than one year last past. That
he suffered the [inconvenience?] of
the late disastrous fire and freely
paid licence during said time.
That his present place of business
is now located on Yesler Ave
and in a tent ordered to be removed.
In addition to this your petitioner
has lately suffered a grievous
business loss in the death of his
partner.

Therefore your petitioner respectfully
asks your honorable body to ex-
tend to him the privilege of
opening his Saloon for a few
days for the purpose of having
his said business round up
and a proper division of said
Saloon property adjusted.
