Resolved that the offices of Lieutenants of Police now 5th. Resolved that James Huff, Nick Hannah and John Brennan be 6th. Resolved that John Sanstrom, T.R . Carpenter and W.H. | 992152_Page_11st. Resolved that the offfice of First, Second and Third Lieutenant be declared vacant: 2nd. Resolved, that it is respectfully recommended to the City Council that an ordinance be passed abolishing the offices of Lieutenants in the Police force and in lieu thereof creating three Sargents (Sargeants) of Police, with the same pay, and that the ordinance pertaining thereto be further amended so that wherever the words "Lieutenant of Police" appear, they shall read, "Sargent (Sargeant) of Police": 3rd. Resolved, that upon the passage by the City Council of an ordinance abolishing the offices of Lieutenants of Police and creating the offices of Three Sargents (Sargeants) of Police, and that thereupon the Rules and Regulations of this Department be amended so that where-ever the words "Lieutnant of Police" appear they shall read "Sargent (Sargeant) of Police:" 4th. Resolved that the offices of Lieutenants of Police now vacant shall be, and are now filled by the appointment of Gorge A. Templeton, D.F. Willard and John Sullivan: 5th.
