SEC. 2--That any person who shall violate any of
the provisions of section one of this Ordinance or
cause or procue any such violation or aid, abet, en-
courage or assist in any such violation shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall for each and every
such offense, on conviction thereof, be fined in any
sum not exceeding one hundred dollars, to which may
be added imprisonment not exceeding thirty days.

SEC. 3--That this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force at the expiration of five days after the
same have been published.

ORDINANCE NO.196
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE PUBLIC PRINTING OF THE
CITY OF SEATTLE.
Aproved Oct. 6, 1879.
The City of Seattle does ordain as follows:

SECTION 1.--That the publication of all ordinances
and legal notices required to be published by law on the
order of the Common Council shall be published in
the Intelligencer, a newspaper published in the City of
Seattle.

SEC. 2.--That the Intelligencer Publishing Com-
pany is hereby awarded the public printing of the City
of Seattle upon the bid of Thomas W. Prosch, its
business manager, dated September 5th, 1879, and
the explanatory statement dated September 12th,
1879.
