COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE
Be it remembered that on this the 13th day of
May 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle
meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to ad-
journment of May 12th 1882
Present, His Honor, the Mayor L. P. Smith, and
Councilmen John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan
and Charles McDonald
Thereupon the following proceedings are
had.
A petition is received from Chas. [Coffin?]
praying for the right to lay water pipe in
the Streets and alleys of the City of Seattle. After
due consideration said petition is granted and the
ordinance committee instructed to submit an
ordinance in accordance therewith and con-
taining all necessary and proper provisions.
And now the City Attorney submits or-
dinance No. 275, the same being entitled as
follows, to wit: "an Ordinance to amend section three (3) of ordinance No. 273, entitled
'A special ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement of Union Street from the center line of Front
Street to the centre line of Eighth Street in the City of Seattle County of King In Territory of Washington'"
After due consideration said Ordinance
is adopted by the following vote, towit: in favor
of adoption John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan
and Charles McDonald.
Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned
until May 15th at 7 1/2 pm.

Be it remembered that on this the 13th day of May 1882 the
Common Council of the City of Seattle meets as a board of equalization pur-
suant to adjournment of May 12th 1882. Present His Honor, Mayor L. P. Smith
and Councilmen John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, and Chas.McDonald.
Ordered that Adam Orth be notified that on tuesday, May 16th 1882, the Council will raise his assessment.
Pending the equalization of the assessment roll for 1882, the Council adjourns
