COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE
And now the Street Committee submit a contract
between the City and T. P. Roberts for the construction of
a sidewalk on Jackson Street. Thereupon said
contract is approved and it is ordered that
the mayor and clerk be and they are hereby
instructed to execute the same on behalf of the City.
Ordered that the Marshall be instructed to
remove the peanut stand from the corner of Front
and James Street.
Ordered that E. N. Rea, contractor, be and
he is hereby granted the right to land stone, on the
Washington Street incline, to be used in the construction
of the new City Building.
A petition is received from A. A. Bell et al
praying that road way on Tenth and Stewart
Streets be changed; thereupon the same is referred
to the Street Committee.
A petition is received from J.H. Marshall et al
praying for the opening of the alley in Block 2, May-
nard's plat; thereupon said petition is granted.
Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned
until June 19th 1881, at 7:30 o'clock p.m.

Be it remembered that on this the 19th day of June 1882, the
Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant
to adjournment of June 16th 1882; Present: His Honor, the Mayor L. P. Smith
and Councilman John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, Chas McDonald & G.L. Manning
Ordered that George Baker be authorized to maintain a peanut stand
on James & Front Street.
Ordered that a committee consisting of Chas McDonald, Wm. A.
Jennings and G. L. Manning be and is hereby appointed to take into
consideration the matter of Street Grading the City of Seattle.
Ordered that Council now adjourned until June 23rd of 1882.
