COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE
consideration said ordinance is adopted by the
following vote, to wit; in favor of adoption Thomas
Clancy
, John Collins, Mr. A Jennings, Charles McDonald and
G.J. Manning. Against adoption, none.
And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordi-
nance No 289, the same being entitled "A Special
Ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement
of Union Street, from a point midway between Third and
Fourth Streets, to the center line of Eighth Street, in the
City of Seattle, County of King & Territory of Washington"
after our consideration said ordinance is adopted by the
following vote, to wit--: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy,
John Collins, Mr. A. Jennings, Charles McDonald, and G.J. Manning.
Against adoption none.
Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned

July 7 '82 Be it remembered that on this the 7th day of July
A. D. 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets
in its Council chambers pursuant to Law.
Present His Honor the Mayor L. P. Smith and councilmen
Thomas Clancy, Mr. A. Jennings, John Keenan, [|Charles McDonald]]
and John Collins.
Thereupon the following proceedings are had.
A petition is received from the Sisters of Charity praying
for the vacation of the alley in Blocks 18 in Boren's addition;
said petition is refered to the Street Committee.
A petition is received from Portman and Padden et al
praying for a crossing on Front Street to Colmans block; said
petition is refered to the Street Committee.
A petition is received from Thomas Clancy et al praying
for the grading of Washington Street from Commercial Street
to Fifteenth Street; said petition is granted and Ordinance
Committee instructed to submit an ordinance in accordance therewith:
