108 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Aug 4/82 The reports of the following officers are received and ordered placed on file, viz: Street Commissioner, Harbor Master, Fire Warden, City Justice, City Attorney. Ordered that the clerk be and he is hereby instructed to advertise for bids for the furnishing of the City with the following articles for the ensuing year; viz, Lumber and Stationery; and for bids for lighting the gas lights, and doing the printing of the City. Ordered that the Committee on Health and Police be and they are hereby constituted a Board of Health. Ordered that the council stand now adjourned. Attest Approved E.S. Aug 11/82 Be it remembered that on this the 11th day of August, 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle, meets in its council chamber pursuant to the call of the mayor and in accordance with ordinance No 292. Present his honor, the mayor, H.G. Struveand councilmen Charles F. Clancy, O.F. Cosper, Fred Gash, G.L. Manning, Charles McDonald and U.M. Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had. A communication is received from the mayor relative to a defect in ordinance No 292, and is ordered filed. The Legislative and Judiciary Committee are instructed to submit an ordinance replacing ordinance No 292. A petition is received from A.P. Spaulding et al praying for the opening of Eleventh Street and is referred to the Committe on Streets and Street Improvements. A petition is received from Stewart and Ebersold praying for a sidewalk on the West side of Front Street, and is referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. 109 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Aug 11/82 Pine and Ninth Streets and on Stewart, First and Virginia Streets; said petition is referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvement. A petition is received from Franenthal Bros praying for the remission of the 10% penalty on delinquent tax on Jackson Street Sidewalk tax rolls; the same is referred to Finance Committee A petition is received from W W Holcomb et al for a deed to Lot 151 is City Cemetary; the same is referred to the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds A Communicaation is received from the City Attorney upon the construction of Sections 63 & 94 of the City Charter, and is thereupon referred to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee The Street Committee report in favor of granting the petition of G W Hall et al and thereupon it is ordered that the Judiciary Committee be & they are instructed to submit an ordinance for the construction of sidewalks on Pine and Ninth Streets and on Stewart, Tenth and Virginia Streets as prayed for The Street Committee report favorably on the petition of Harmon & Thurlow for a lease of a portion of Seneca Street Thereupon said petition is referred to the Legislative and Judiciary Committee with instruction to prepare a lease in accordance therewith. The street Committee report favorably on the petition of E A Turner et al for a sidewalk on King Street; said petition is thereupon referred to the Legislative and Judiciary Committee with instructions to submit an ordinance in accordance therewith The Legislative and Judiciary Committee submit ordinance No 293 entitled "An ordinance to repeal Ordianace No292 of the city of Seattle" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote; to wit: in favor of adoption,

Against adoption,none The Claim of Stewart and Ebersold of $6.50 for for printing having beed duly audited is ordered paid by warrant drawn on the City Funds No153 And now come the persons hereinafter named and make application for the license hereinafter named from the dates and for the periods hereinafter specified and at the same time said applications file their several bonds in accordance with the ordinance relative thereto.
