140 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Sept29/82 Manning & McDonald Order that the vote by which Ordinance No_ to amend section 2&3 of ordinance No 246 was rejected be reconsidered; thereupon the Council proceeds to reconsider said ordinance, pending which its further consideration is laid over until next meeting. An Ordinance is presented entitled "An Ordinance granting unto John Leary, his heirs, exeutors, administrators and assignes the right to lay water pipes within the City of Seattle." Referred to Committee on Fire & Water Supply The following Resolution is presented: Resolved tht a Special Comittee of three be appointed by the Mayor to draft and report to the Council rules of order and bylaws to govern the Common Council in the transaction of its business. Adopted and Rasin, Gasch & Manning appointed such Special Committee Ordered that the council stand now adjourned Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor

Be it remembered that on this the 2nd Day of October 1882 The Common Council of the City of Seattle meet in its Council Chamber pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No 309 Present: Councilmen John Collins, O F Cosper, Chas F Clancy, Chas McDonald & U M Rasin By reason of the absence of His Honor the Mayor H G Struve, Councilman John Collins, is elected as President of the Council for the meeting. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: The Council proceeds to examine equalize & to hear all Complaints touching the Amended Supplemental Assessment Roll under Ordinance No 288 pending which the matter is laid over until Thursday October 5th 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock

141 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE pm. ordered that the Council stand adjourned until Thrusday October 5th 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock pm attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor Be it remembered that on this the 5th day of October 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen O F Cosper, Charles F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U M Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds to examine, consider & hear all complaints touching the amended and Supplemented assessment Roll for the grading & iimprovement under Ordinance No 288, which roll was filed with the City Clerk September 5th 1882. thereupon the Council makes the following changes & corrections in said rolls to wit: The assessment against Geo Kinnear on Lot 8 block 15 of Boren & Denny's plat values at $1600 for land & $50.00 for Improvements is reduced to $1500 on lot & no charge for Improvements. The assessment against L H Terry on Lot 8 in Block 45 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for lands is erased and struck from said rolls. And now all compliants against said roll of any individual assessment therein having been heard
