155 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Oct 13/82 Consideration is laid over until Monday October 16, 1882 at 7 o'clock P.M. And now in pursuance to the provisions of Ordinance No. 303 the Council proceeds to examine + equalize the assessment roll for the 7th Street sidewalk and to hear all complaints touching said roll; pending which the matter of said consideration is laid over until Monday October 16 1882 at 7 o'clock P.M. And now in pursuance to the provisions of Ordinance No. 304 the Council proceeds to examine + equalize the assessment roll for the Front Street sidewalk and to hear all complaints touching said roll; pending which the matter of said consideration is laid over until Monday October 16 1882 at 7 o'clock P.M. Ordered that the Judiciary and Legislative Committee be they are hereby instructed to submit at next meeting and Ordinance levying a tax to pay for grading done on Union Street under Ordinance No. 289 Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Monday October 16 1882 at 7 o'clock P.M. Struve, mayor Oct 16/82 Be it remembered that on this the 16th day of October 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber persuant to adjournment. The following officers are present, towit: Councilman John Collins, O.F. Casper, Charles F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, G.L. Manning, and U.M. Rasin Thereupon the following proceedings are had. By reason of the absence of His Honor the Mayor Councilman John Collins is appointed President of the Council for the meeting Committees Reports Received

156 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Oct 16/82 From Licenses & Revenue recommending a Retail liquor license be issued to Wm Busha. Adopted From Licenses & Revenue recommending a Retail liquor license be issued to J M King. Adopted From Licenses & Revenue recommending a grocery linces be issued to Geo Walsh. Adopted From Licenses & Revenue recommending a Retail liquor license be issued to Wm Streit. Adopted Ordered that the Committee on Fire & Water have until next meeting inwhich to report on the Ordinance establishing Water Works. Special Orders of the Day And now the Council proceeds to equalize & correct the Assessment Roll under Ordinance No 313 for the 7th Street sidewalk; thereupon such equalization & correction being completed. It is ordered that said roll be declared to be the assessment roll for such improvements. And now the Council proceeds to equalize & correct the assessment roll under Ordinance No 302, for the King Street sidewalk; thereupon such equalization & correction being completed. It is ordered that said roll be declared to be the assessment roll for such improvement. And now the Council proceeds to equalize & correct the assessment roll under ordinance No 304 for the Front Street Sidewalk; thereupon such equalization & correction being completed. It is ordered that said roll be declared to be the assessment roll for such improvements. Ordinances received From the Judiciary and Legislative submitting an ordinance entitled "To repeal Ordinance No 301" Adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Gasch, Manning

Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Monday October 23, 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock PM Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve mayor Oct 23/82 Be it remembered that on this the 23rd day of October, 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen John Collins, Chas F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Chas McDonald & U M Rasin Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions Received from E H Plummer et al remonstrating against combining 2d and Jackson Street grades in one district. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. From A W Engle et al for a sidewalk on the South side of Washington Street from a point 90 feet West of 3rd Street to 2d Street. Adopted & Judiciary & Legislative Committee instructed to submit a proper Ordinance. From Sisters of Charity et al for a sewer on Madison Street from 5th Street to the Bay. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. From Snig Veren Arion for the refunding of the amount of Concert License paid. Referred to the Committee on Licenses and Revenues. From Jacob Levy et al for street lamps onFront Street near University & Seneca Streets. Referred to the Committee on Gas Lights Reports Received From Health Officer submitting quarterly report. Referred to teh Committee on Health & Police.
