172 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Nov 13/82 Be it remembered that on this the 13th day of November, 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in the Council Champbers pursuant to adjournment The following oficers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and councilment O F Cosper, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U M Rasin Theretupon the following proceedings are had: Committee Reports Recd' From Streets & Street Improvements recommending the granting of the petition of W H Reeves et al for a sidewalk in Seneca Street between Front and Third Streets. Adopted From Streets & Street Improvements recommending the granting of the petition of John H Carr et al for a side walk on the North side of Jackson Street fromthe West side of Eighth Street to the West side of 6th street. Laid on the table Application for Licenses Recd' From G Sohucke for Retail Liquor. Granted From Funk & Dickman for Grocery. Granted Claims Paid Fire Fund Anthony Holmes Coke No 94 $6.25 W A Perry Coke & Coal 95 10.00 Ordinances Received From the Judiciary and Legislative submitting an ordianance entitled "To provide for the levying and collecting of special tax for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the construction of a sidewalk on King Street under Ordinance No 302" Adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Cosper, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin; against adoption none From the Judiciary and Legislative submitting an ordinance entitled "To provide for the levying and collecting of a special tax for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the construction of a Sidewalk of Seventh Street under ordinance No 303" Adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Cosper, Gasch, McDonald, & Rasin. Against adoption none. From Judiciary & Legislative submitting an Ordinance entitled "To provide for the construction for sidewalk on Jackson Street" adopted upon the following vote to wit:

173 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Nov 13/82 In favor of adoption Cosper, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin. Against adoption none. New Business Ordered that the Street Committee be & they are hereby instructed to forbid the removal of earth from under sidewalks, so that sidewalks & earth thereunder shall be higher than gutters.
