JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE
May 24/83
On this the 24th day of May 1883 the Common Council of
the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber as a board
of equalization pursuant to adjournment of May 23, 1883.
The following officers are present, towit: councilmen
O.F. Cosper, Fred Gasch & U.M. Rasin.
No quorum being present the council adjourns as a
Board of Equalization until Monday May 28, 1883
at 8 o'clock P.M.

Be it remembered that on this the 25th day of May 1883
the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Coun-
cil Chamber pursuant to adjournment of May 28, 1883.
The following officers are present towit: His Honor
the Mayor H.G. Struve and councilmen O.F. Cosper, Chas
F. Clancy
, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U.M. Rasin
Thereupon the following proceedings are had:
Petitions Read
From Mary A. Calhoun for the right to build a sidewalk
on Pike Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street
Improvements.
From the Hook and Ladder Co for housing of apparatus.
Referred to the Committee on Fire and Water Supply
From W. D. Scott & Co. et al for the removal of a China Wash
House on Commercial near Jackson. Referred to the Committee
on Health & Police.
From the Oregon Trans-Coninental and C. & P.S.R.R. Co. for
the right to construct a road way along the waterfront
across Main & Jackson streets to Washington Street. Referred
to the Committee on Harbor & Wharves with instructions to
report at next regular meeting by ordinance or otherwise
from John J McGilvra et al for the grading of Cherry
