JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE

Ordered that the foregoing bids be & are referred to a Comtee
to wit: Cosper, Clancy & Gasch.
Unfinished Business
And now the Council proceeds to consider the Report of the
Street Committee on the grading of 4th Street; thereupon after
due consideration it is
Ordered that Fourth Street be graded; and that Sidewalks
be constructed on both sides of said Fourth Street from the South
line of Seneca Street to the North line of Mill Street. And that
the City Attorney be & he is hereby instructed to submit an ordi-
nance therefor. Adopted upon the Following vote, to wit: In
favor of said order; Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin;
against none.
Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Thurs-
day June 28, 1883 at 8 o'clock pm

Be it remembered that on this the 28th day of June 1883
the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council
Chamber pursuant to adjournment.
The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the
Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen O F Cosper, Charles
Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald.
Petitions Received
From Wa Chong & Co for the priveledge of building a sidewalk
of South 3rd Street. Referred to Comtee on Streets and Street Improvements.
From Star Mfg Co. For the right to build a Water Tank & Wharf
in Seneca Street. Referred to Streets.
And now the Council proceeds to open the bids for the Im-
provement of South 3rd Street under Ordinance No 399, which
bids are as follows to wit:
Strong & Harkins Earthwork per cu yd 42 cents
