366 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Sept 25/83 Otto Fuhrmann & Co for Retail Liquor for 3 months from Sept 13 E Schilling for Wholesale for 3 months from Sept 18 C P Stone for Wholesale for 3 months from Oct 1 M Gotstein, Lingart & Co for Wholesale for 3 months from Sept 17 R Howland for 2 Billiards & 1 Pool table for 3 months from Sept 25 Peter Anderson & Co for Retail for 3 months from Oct 1 John Stifler for Grocery for 3 months from Oct 1 Aug LeBallister & Co for Retail for 3 months from Sept 22 And now the Street Comtee recommend the granting of the petition of Otto Fuhrmann & Co to change license. Adopted And now the Attorney submits an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinonce to amend Ordinance No 436 entitled 'An Ordinance to establish the grade on a portion of Jackson Street" thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Clancy, Day, Harris, McDonald, Rasin & Ranke. Against adoption none. Ordered that the Notice of Garnishment served upon the Clerk in the case of Mills-v-Murphy & Stewart be & the same is referred to the Attorney for his opinion. Ordered that the Committee on Public Buildings, Property and Grounds by and they are hereby authorized to make all necessary repairs to the roof of City Hall. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Friday Speptember 28, 1883 at 7&1/2 o'clock pm for the special purpose of considering the Madison Street Assessment Roll. 367 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Sept 28/83 McDonald, U M Rasin, Otto Ranke & F W Wusthoff Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Special Committee to whom was referred the matter of examining said Madison Street Assessment Roll make their report recommending the approval of saod Roll. Thereupopn said Report is rejected. After due examination of said roll is it ordered that roll be re-referred to the assessor with instructions to correct certain descriptions of property & correct certuan names & to submit an engrossed roll embodying all such changes. Ordered that the Council Stand now adjourned. Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve mayor Oct 5/83 Be it remembered that on this the 5th day of October 1883 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber puruant to adjourment. Referred to Gas Committee From G A Tyler for the right to move a building from Frye's Front Street Lot to South 3rd Street. Referred to Street comittee. From Seattle Lumber and Commercial Co et al for planking foot fo Marion Street. Referred to Street Committee.
