the Mayor appeared and takes his seat as Presiding Officer
when such equalization is proceeded with until the hour of
adjournment.
Order that the Council stand now adjourned until Wed-
nesday May 21, 1884 at 8 o'clock pm
Attest: E S Osborne clerk
Approved U M Rasin President of the Council
And now on May 20 1884 immediately after adjournment
as aforesaid, the Council meets pursuant to the call of His
Honor the Mayor H G Struve to consider Washington Street Sewer.
Present, His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen
Thos Clancy, Geo W Harris, John Keenen, Chas McDonald,Otto
Ranke
, F W Wusthoff & U M Rasin
And now a communcitation is rec'd from the Surveyor
on the necessity of piling a foundation for Washington
Street sewer & containing a statement of the cost of such piling
Ordered that the communication be adopted & that the
Contractors for Washington Street Sewer be & are hereby instructed
to pile a foundation for same in accordance
with said communication.
Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned

On this the 21st day of May 1884 the Common Council of the City
of Seattle meets in its council Chamber pursuant to adjournment
as a board of Equalization.
The following officers are present to wit:
Councilmen Thomas Clancy, Geo W Harris, Chas McDonald, U M Rasin & F W Wusthoff.
By reason of the absence of His Honor the Mayor, Councilman
U M Rasin is appointed President of the Council to serve during such
absence
And now the Council proceeds with the examination and
