COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE
May 21 1886
The following reports of Committees are received:
From License Committee on petition of J W Jones
for permission to peddle articles of h is own manufacture
without a license, recommending that petition be granted
on motin the report is adopted.
From Sewer Committee on repport of HealthOfficer with
their approval and recommending that a box drain be
constructed in 5th Street to connect with sewer from
University Grounds and to connect with Union Street
sewer on motin the report is adopted
From Judiciary Committee on motin of City Printing
recommending that contract be let to the lowest responsible
bidder for term of 13 months from June 1st 1886 to
June 30th 1887, on motion the report is adopted
From Judiciary committee returning reports of
Justice G G Lyon, Justice G A Hill & Jailor J Bogart
with their approval.
From Street Committee recommending that Street
Commissioner be instructed to repair bridge on LAke
Street
on motion report is adopted
From City Attorney and Fire & Water Committee of petition of
E F Lyon: that relief asked for can be obtained only
through the Courts and recommending that no action
be taken by the council on the matter, on motion the report
is adopted
From Finance Committee on petition of James Murphy
for renumeratin for injury received while on duty as
police officer recommending that he be allowed to sum
od $122.50 on motion the report is adopted.
