54 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Jul 29 1886 Be it remembered that on this 29th day of July 1886 the the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment The following officers are present to wit: Mayor H L Yesler, and Councilmen R H Calligan, J Furth, Geo W Hall, W A Harrington, T W Lake & Geo W Young When the following proceedings were had, to wit: The council proceeds with the examnation and equalization fothe Assessment Roll for the year of 1886, whereupon the following changes are ordered made, viz: W P Boyd & Co raised on personal property from $6000 to $8000 Seattle Hardware Co raised on personal property from $7000 to $9000 Klein & Rosenburg raised on personal property from $4500 to $6000 Adam Orth raised on personal property from $2000 to $3000 P J Lair & Co raised on personal property from $2000 to $2500 H Jones & Son raised on personal property from $800 to $1250 H Herschberg & Co raised on personal property from $4030 to $6030 Wald & Campbell raised on personal property from $6000 to $8000 Sam'l Kenney raised on personal property from $2040 to $3540 Sam'l Kenney raised on Improvements Lot 8 B 8 B&A from $5000 to $7500 Hillory Butler raised on Improvements Lot 6&7 B 4 Borens from $1600 to $2000 Fruenthal Bros raised on Improvements S 1/2 Lot 1 B 8 Maynards from $4000 to $5000 E F Lange raised on Improvements Lot 5 B 45 Terrys from $700 to $1000 Otto Ranke raised on Improvements Lot 10 B 19 A A Dennys from $500 to $1000 W M Ladd raised on Improvements 30x100 E of P O Building from $5000 to $7500 D Horton raised on Improvements Lot 3 & 4 A A Dennys from $1500 to $2000 G Poncin raised on Improvements C Poncin Block from $9000 to $10000 Lizzie M Pumphrey raised on Improvements Lot 5 B 30 Hrs S A Bell from $800 to $1200 Safe Deposit Co raised on Improvements Safe Deposit Bldg from $10000 to $15000 H L Yesler raised on Improvements Gisler Leary Blk from $20000 to $15000 Toklas & Kingerman raised on personal property from $4030 to $6030 W V Rinehart assessed on Improvements Lot 8 B 8 B&A from $25000 to $30000 Omitted by assessor D B Jackson assessed on Improvements Lot 8 B 31 Borens from $1400 to $7500

55 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jul 29 1886 omitted by assessor Emily Klingel assessed on Improvements E 1/2 of Lots 1& 2 Block 44 Maynards Addn $500. Omitted by assessor Ordered that the assessment of John Ross on Lot 5 B 12 Boren & Dennys with improvements total valuation $4150. The same property being assessed to the Estate of John Ross Ordered that the assessment of the C & P S R R Co on the SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 sec 28 T 25 R 4 10 acres $200 be cancelled the same property having been assessed twice to said Co on the roll. Saml L Cullis reduced $250. on personal property acct mortagage G W Hall reduced on Improvement Block 40 Hrs S A Bell from 2000 to 1200 Schwabacher Bros & Co reduced on personal property from 72,000 to 62,000 Communication for Geo F Frye in regard to valuation of Opera House Block read and on motion tabled Petitoin of J C Murphy for permission to sell an patented article without taking out a license. Rejected.
