152 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Feb 4 1887 The City Surveyor submits the plans and specifications for a sidewalk along the west side of Front Street from the Cracker Factory to the North side of Union Street and the same being submitted to the Street Committee, are approved and ordered filed. On motion of Councilman Furth ordered that the Street Commissioner is instructed to plank a portion of Mercer Street between Dexter Street and Box Street and Councilman Hinckley is appointed a committee of one to designate the portion to be planked. The Clerk submits an ordinance entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills", which is passed by the following vote viz: Ayes Furth, Frink, Green, Hinckley, Russell & Reitze noes none. Granted so are as the petition refers to the opening of said Streets. Petition of Fred Wilhelm et al to have earth removed from the sidewalk on James Street and use the same to fill in the hallow on Sixth Street between James & Cherry Streets Referred to Street Committee. On motion of Councilman Hinckley the report of the Street committee rejecting the petition of Littell & Sandstrum for permission to occupy the foot of University Street is taken from the table. Councilman Green moves to reject the reject report of the committee; the motion is lost by the following vote. Ayes Furth, Green & Hinckley, noes Frink, Lake, Russell, Reitze.
