On motion the report is adopted and the Street Commissioner directed to make the necessary repairs in accordance with the plans of teh Committee and the chairman of the Street Committee instructed to purchase the iron rods. Referred to Street Committee and on recommendation of the Committee the petition is granted. Petition of Chas G Steinweg for refunding to him the sum of $125.00 on acct of unexpired term of liquor license. Granted. Petition of Charles Deitz for permission to transfer his liquor license from Melhorn Block on Front Street to the Pontius Building on Front Street. Granted. Petition of Saml Kenney et al for the extension and opening of Natchez Street in Lams First Addn from the Portage County Road to Madison Street & Republican Street from Natchez Street to same Kenney line. 167 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Mar 18 1887 Miscellaneous On motion of Councilman Furth the petitions for sidewalks on Seventh Street hereto fore filed are re-referred to the Street Committee The Chief of Police having stated that Police Officer Tobias Butler had been absent from duty for about two months without leave, on motion of Councilman Furth Officer Butler's place on the police force is decreed vacant. On motion of Councilman Hinckley Charles Robinson is elected a member of the Police force to fill the vacancy caused by the removal of officer Butler, by a unanimous vote of the council. On motion the matter of Exending Madison Street is referred to the Street Committee and Judiciary Committee. Ordinances An Ordinance is submitted by the Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" Which is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Coulter, Furth, Frink, Green, Hinckley, Lake Russell and Reitze.
