to the Fire Department recommend: That the Ordinance
relating to the election of Chief and other officers of
the Fire Department be changed so that the election
of Chief shall be by the Common Council: The election
of his assistants shall be by the Council upon the
recommendation of the chief. that the electionog
Chief Engineer shall be by the Common Council and the
Election of Engineers in charge of Engines shall be
by the Council upon the recommendation of the chief.
