protesting against the adoption of the proposed new
ordinance changing the mannner of electing the Chief of
the Fire Department. Referred to Com on Fire & Water.
Petition of August Melhorn for permission to build a
sidewalk in front of his building at the foot of Col-
umbia Street and asking the Council to fix the grade of
the same. Granted and city surveyor requested to give Mr.
Melhorn the proper grade.
Petition of Jno S Anderson for permission to carry on a
manufacturing business in the building erected by him
for an ice house in Lot 3 Block B Terrys Addition and
also erect an addition thereto, Granted and the City Atty.
directed to dismiss the case pending against said Ander-
son for erecting a wooden building within the fire limits.
