331 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATLE Nov 4 1887 the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Seattle to execute a Quit Claim Deed to Charles Hart; which is passed by the following vote viz: Ayes Furth, Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze Nays None. An Ordinance is submitted by the City Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance Appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is passed by the following vote; In favor of same Furth, Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Neitsz, Russelll & Reitze Nays None. Ordered that Council adjourn until Tuesday Oct 10th at 7:30 o'clock PM Approved Thomas T Minor mayor Attest W R Forest clerk Nov 8 1887 Be it remembered that on this 8th day of November 1887 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following officers are present to wit-: Mayor Minor, Councilmen Furth, Frink, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze & W R Forrest clerk. Where upon that following proceedings are had to wit: Bids for Constructing cribbing on Mill Street are received and read as follows.- Bid of W E Wilson Furnish all material & put in bulkhead for $17.50 per MBM [Thousand Board Feet] Bid of Geo Landsburg Earthwork $152.00 Cribbingfor M [thousand] 18.00 Ironwork per lb .25 cents Bid of E L Emmons Furnish all material & put in same for $17.10 per M [thousand]

332 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Nov 8 1887 On motion of Councilman Furth the contract is awarded to E L Emmons upon his filing a bond in the sum of $1000. & the city Atty dinrected to draw the usual contract. The Mayor States that in the absence of the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners he had ordered an indigent man with broken leg to be taken to Providence Hospital. On motion Councilman Moran is appointed a Committee ofn one to to notify the County Commissioners of the case. Communication from Sam'l A Hoyt making fromal application for the position of Harbor Master is referred to Committee on Harbors & Wharves. Committee Reports Rec'd From Street Light Committee granting petition sof E Godfrey & Others & L Otto & others for street Lights. Adopted. Ordered that the clerk notify the Chief of Police to abate the nuisance on the Alley between Cherry & James & Front & Second Street]]s. Applications for Licenses Referred Anderson & Cresus for retail malt Bills Allowed White & Quigley Final payment for Fourth Street Grade Ord No 836 $3,366.65 Ordered that the Plat of Bell's Seventh Addition to the City of Seattle be approved with the exception of the part which lies outside of the meander line.

333 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Nov 8 1887 Ordered that the supplemental Plat of Block 27 to Bell and Denny's First Additition to the City of Seattle be approved. Ordinances The Clerk Submits anOrdinance entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating Money to pay audited Bills 880 which is passed by the Following vote: Ayes Furth 879 Frink, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze Nays none. Ordered that theCouncil do now adjourn Approved Thomas T Minor mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Nov 15 1887 Seattle W T November 15th 1887 Council met pursuant to call of Mayor Present Mayor Minor and Councilmen Furth, Green Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze, and W R Forrest Clerk. The following proceedings are had To Wit:- At the request of the Mayor the City Attorney states that the meeting is called to consider the claim of the contractor grading Mill Street for an increase of the contract rate for grading said street owing to the sliding of earth on the North side of said Street.- C H Hanford esq. appears on behalf of the contractor and states that owing to the nature of the ground it cannot be removed at the contract rate. Also asks for an extension of the time for grading said street. On motion of Councilman Furth the application of the contractor on Mill Street for an increased rate for removing the Earth from said Street is denied, and the matter of extending the time for grading the street is continued untilthe next regular meeting.
