Ordered that the matter of placing a Water closet in the addition now being built to the City Hall be referred to the Committee on Sewer & Drainage. Bills Allowed Mill St. Improvement Fund and 848# C L. Emmonds #1516 $1969.46 Mill St. Crib An ordinance is submitted by the City Clerk entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" - Ayes Moran Lake Neisz Russell & Reitze. Ordered that council do now adjourn. Petition of R Holyoke for permission to erect wooden building within the fire limits read and Granted. Petition fo Edgar Bryan & H A Bigelow for a sewer on Fourth Street between Blocks 19 & 12 in A A Denny's Plat read & Referred to Committee on Sewers. Petition of Wm McMasters for permission to transfer his liquor license read and granted. Petition of W A Perry & J H Kennedy engineers of Fire Engines No1 & No2 for an increase of salary from $75. to $90. per month read and referred to Committee on Fire & Water Petition of F H McKowin & others for planking Temperance Street from Mercer Street to Roy Street read and referred to Committee on Streeets. Petitionof T H Cann on behalf of certain labors on Seventh Street grade north of Madison Street read & Tabled Petition of L Miller & others for Street Lights on King Street at corner of 9th, 10th, & 11th Streets read & referred to Street Light Committee and returned by said committee with the recommendation that the petition be granted the lights to be of 16 candle power on wooden posts Adopted.

From City Attorney for month of December read & ordered filed. From Police Justices Jones & Soderberg referred to the Finance Committee. From Chief of Police read and ordered filed. From Health Officer read and ordered filed. From Custodian of the Powder House read and ordered filed. From City Treasurer read & referred to Finance om. From Health Officer read and ordered filed. From Street Commissioner referred to Street Committee and returned approved. From Chief of the Fire Department read & referred to Committee on Fire & Water with power to act. Committee Reports Rec'd From Judiciary Committee rejecting petition of laborers on Madison Street extension as there is no legal manner in which an appropriation to pay the wages asked for can be made by the City. Adopted. from Same Committee in the matter of dedicating a portionof Mill Street by H L Yesler recommending that the said street be accepted by the City provided the City Attorney reports favorable on the deed dedicating same. Adopted and the deed is referred to the City Attorney for examination. 363 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE before they had time to complete their investigation or make their report, the case was carried before the Courts. Reports received & ordered filed. From same Committee granting petition of Guy C Phinney for remission of taxes on Phinney's Second Addition. Adopted. From Same Committee in Conjunction with the Street Committee on Columbia Street Slip. On motion the report is re-referred to the Committees. From Street Committee returning remonstrance of J R Anderson against the extension of Rollin Street as the council has already ordered the extension of said Street. Read & ordered filed. From same committee granting petition of T Hochbunn for vacating alley in Block "Q" of Bell's 6th Addition provided said petitioner dedicated to the city for Street Purposes ten (10) feet of said block at the point of intersection of Vine & Depot Streets. Adopted referred dto City Attorney Councilman Furth on behalf of Finance Committee moves that the City Atty be directed to draw an ordinance transferring $7000 from the City Fund To the Road Fund & $5000 from the City Fund to the Fire Fund.
