JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE

Be it remembered that on this 17th day of February
1888 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets
in its Council chamber pursuant to law. The
following officers are present, to wit: Mayor
Minor and Councilmen Furth, Green, Lake,
Moran, Russell & Reitze & W. R. Forrest Clerk.
The following proceedings are had, to wit:
Petitions etc
Petitions of W H Reeves & others for a sewer in
Seneca Street from the Bay to the alley between
Third & Fourth Streets, read & referred to Sewer Com.
Petition of M. V. Stewart for the return of certain
grade taxes herebefore paid into the City Treasury
read and referred to the City Attorney.
Petition of A. F. Naher & others for permission to
grade Sixth Street from Madison to Spring St.
at their own expense, read and on motion granted.
Petition of Mrs Celia Mitchell for the correction of
her assessment, read and granted.
Petition of James Kelly for permission to build a
fruit stand on Washington Street in front of the
standard Theatre read & tabled.
Petition of Fred Wilhelm & others for grading
Cherry Street from Fourth Street to Thirteenth
Street
, read and referred to the Street Committee.
Petition of Seamens Friend Society for the abate-
ment of a nuisance caused by a Sewer Corner of
South Second & Main St
, read & referred to Committee
on Health & Police.
