on the South West Corner of Front and Madison Sts. Adopted.
From same Committee granting petition L.M. Wood and others
for grading Third Street from Depot Street to Virginia Street
and Virginia Street from West Street to Fourth Street and
building sidewalks on said streets and directing the City
Surveyor to submit plans and specifications for said im-
provements with a profile at the next regular meeting. Adopted.
From same Committee rejecting petition of S.N. Sorenson
for permission to move a house from the corner of Spring and
Third Streets
to Block 5 Sorensen's Additiion as it would obstruct
the public streets for too long a period. Adopted.
From same Committee recommending that the petition of
Nat Bartlett for permission to build a house on Clay St
near the Bay be laid on the table. Adopted.
From same Committee granting petition of E.A. Turner
and others for grading Lane Street from Eighth Street to
Fourteenth Street and building sidewalks on both sides there-
of, also directing the City Surveyor to establish the grade
of said street and submit plans and specifications for said
improvement at the next regular meeting. Adopted.
From same Committee asking further time to report on pe-
tition of J. W. Van Brocklin & others for grading and terracing
Terrace Street from Mill to Thirteenth Streets. Granted.
From Committee on Fire and Water granting petition of A.E.
Hauser
and others for a new fire alarm bell at Engine
House No. 3. Lake Union
and recommending that the purchasing
agent purchase a suitable bell. Adopted.
From same committee recommending that the present Fire
alarm system be abandoned as the same is useless for
