434 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Apr 6 1888 Miscellaneous The proposition of Mr Keezer for filling in his lots on Mill Street referred to City Attorney. the Chariman of the Street Committee submits estimate of cost of extending Marion Street Wharf todeep water. Ordered that plans and specifications for said work be prepared by the City Surveyor and filed with the City Clerk and thereupon the clerk advertist for bids for doing said work. Ordered that the sum of $250. be expensed in improving the Kinnear Park under the supervision of the Street commissioner. Bids for supplying iron rods for Mill Street bulkhead were opened and read as follows: Washington Iron Works $344.00 Charles McDonald $366.00 Ordered that the contract be awarded to the Washington Iron Works Grant Street Plank Road The following bids for constructing Grant Street Plank Road extension were opened and read McKinnon & Co Lumber per M [thousand board feet] $16.55 Piles per lineal foot .17 cents M J Hill & Co Lumber per M [thousand board feet] $15.57 Piles per 100 $500.00 Parker and Orr Lumber per M [thousand board feet] $16.00 Piles per lineal foot .06 cents

435 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Apr 6 1888 Driving Piles $2.00 each On motion the contract is awarded to Parker and Orr Commercial Street Wharf Bids for constructing Commercial Street Wharf were opened and read as follows: McKinnon & Co Lumber per M [thousand board feet] $16.75 Piling per lineal foot .17 cents Parker & Orr Lumber per M [thousand board feet] $17.00 Piling per lineal foot .17 cents Ordered that the contract be awarded to McKinnon & Co upon the settlement of the question of grade etc and that J M Frink, U R Niesz, and Robert Moran be appointed a committee to confer with property owners and report on Wednesday next. 437 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Apr 6 1888 Ordered that the plat of the Charles Addition to the City of Seattle be and the same is hereby approved. Ordered that the plat of Lewis and Gilman Addition to the City of Seattle be and the same is hereby approved. Ordered that the plat of C B Bagley's Orient Addition to the City of Seattle be and the same is hereby approved. On motion of Councilman Niesz the city surveyor is instructed to get the names of the owners of the property along the proposed Avenue along the Lakes. The city surveyor submits plans and specification for Bell Street improvement from Fifth Street the Seventh Street Also plans and specifications for Depot Street Improvement from the Bay to Fir Street; also plans ans specifications for Cherry Street improvement from Fifth Street to Thirteenth Street and on motion the same are all approved and ordered filed. Ordered that the examination and equalization of the assessment roll for Bell Street Improvement under Ordinance No 889; and of Birch Street Improvement Ordinance No 904; and of Fifth Street Improvement under Ordinance No 905; be postponed until Wednesday April 11th 1888 and that when the Council Adjourns it adjourn to meet on that date. Ordered that Jacob Cowan be granted permission to use powder in clearing lots for the period of two weeks.
