that the Oregon Improvement Co. be allowed to extend
their tramway over the said streets, supports to said
tramway to be not less than twelve (12) feet high and put not
less than twenty four (24) feet apart over said street;
said tramway to be removed when in the opinion of the
Council it is necessary. The Oregon Improvement Company
to be liable for all accidents or damages which may
occur from such tramway passing over said streets.
The Committee would further recommend that when
buildings or other improvements are removed or taken
possession of the owners are to receive a reasonable
compensation for the same. The Committee also recommend
that the wharf now at the foot of Commercial Street be al-
-lowed to remain at its present level. On motion the
report is adopted provided the Oregon Improvement Company
files with the City Clerk within ten (10) days a written
acceptance of the terms of said report. So far as it
refers to their company, and the Clerk is directed to
forward to the superintendent of said company a copy
of this report, or such part thereof as refers to that company.
The Council now proceeds to examine and equalize
the Assessment Roll for the Assessment District es-
tablished by Ordinance No. 887 for the grading of Bell
Street
from Front Street to West Street and building side-
walks thereon. Also the Assessment Roll for the Assess-
ment District established by Ordinance No. 904 for the
grading of Birch Street from Depot Street to Harrison
Street
and building sidewalks thereon, and no one ap-
proving to contest either of said Assessment Rolls,
and no objection being made to them or either of them,
On motion it is ordered that said Assessment Rolls be
and the same are hereby approved.
The Council now proceeds to examine and equalize
the Assessment Roll for the Assessment District created
