COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE

of A A Denny and others against opening Streets on the Tide
Flats
at the expense of the general fund to the effect that
the remonstrance was made under a misapprehension &
therefore recommend that the same be tabled. Adopted.
From the City Surveyor stating that at the rate the con-
tractor is now worrking onMill Street it will requite ninety
four (94) days to complete his contract. Referred to Street Committee
Licenses Ordered Issued.
L V D Schnyder, Mrs Jane Berry, Frank W Clancy, Andrew Lunn
E Champeaux, Thos R Hughes, James Wier, Chas H Fox and
John J Gearey. The vote on issuing said licenses is as
Follows viz: In favor of the same, Furth, Frink, Green,
Lake, Neisz, Russell & Reitze. Against the same none.

Storah & Bauman and J T Beadle
Bids for driving piles and building retaining walls on Mill
Street
were opened and read as follows:
McKinnon & Co
Driving piles per lineal feet .40cents
Lumber per M[thousand board feet] $25.00
Iron Rods each $20.00
On motion the bid is tabled.
Bids for grading and building sidewalks on both
sides of Cherry Street from Fifth Street to Thirteenth St
were opened and read as follows:
Henderson & Locke
Earth Work per cubic yard .40cents
Cribbing per M[thousand board feet] $18.00
Sidewalks per M[thousand board feet] $17.00
Box Drains per M[thousand board feet] $18.00
Clearing and grubbing per acre $75.00
