499 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE June 6 1888 950 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitles "anOrdinance to provide for the grading of Wall Street in the City of Seattle from Elliott's Bay to Depot Street" which is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Frink, Green, Lake, Niesz, Russell & Reitze. Against the same none. 949 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance Appropriating money to pay Audited Bills" which is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Frink, Green, Lake, Niesz, Russell & Reitze. Against the same none. Ordered that the council do now adjourn Approved T T Minor mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Jun 15 1888 Be it remembered that on this 15th day of June A D 1888 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law. Present Acting Mayor Furth and Councilmen Frink, Green, Lake, Niesz, Russell & Reitze. Absent Mayor Minor & Councilman Moran The folowing proceedings are had to wit: Petitions etc. Petitionof John Ray for permission to put a pea-nut stand corner Front and Spring Streets read and referred to the Street Committee. Petition of Henry Sheahan and others for grading South Eleventh Street from Lane Street to Dearborn Street and building sidewalks on both sides of said street, read and on motion tabled. Petition of A Krug & others for grading and building sidewalks on both sides of Sixth Street from Depot Street to Battery

Read and referred to the Committee on Harbor & Wharves Petition of J D Springman and others for the regrading of West Street between Virginia and Blanchard Streets, read and referred to Street Committee in conjunction with the City Atty. 501 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE June 15 1888 a street railway franchise on Front Street read and referred to Street Committee and afterwards returned by the committee with the recommendation that the same be tabled as a number of the signers of the remonstrance have also petitioned the council for a Street Railway of Front Street Adopted. Committee Reports Received From Street Committee granting petition of J M Thompson for a Cable Road franchise in Front Street & other streets On motion consideration of the report is postponed for two weeks. From same Committee rejecting petition of the Seattle Street Railway Company for a franchise for a Street railway on Front Street adopted. From same Committee reccommending that the petitioin of F W Sparling and others for grading Spring Street between Seventh and Ninth Streets be taabled. Adopted. From same Committee granting petition of D M Sheafe & others for grading and building sidewalks on Temperance Avenue and the surveyor directed to submit plans and specifications. Adopted From same Committee returning without recommendation the petition of E S Briscoe & others for grading & building sidewalks onSixth Street from Spring Street to Union Street on motion the petition is tabled. From same Committee granting petition of W L Lindsley & others for opening Banner Street fromRoy Street to Depot Street. Adopted. From Health Officer on petition of J J Hohman & others for abatement of nuisance read and referred to Com on Serews & drainage.
