June 13 - 1899
The town council of the town of Columbia
having met in adjounred this dat at 8 P.M. the following
proceedings were had
Meeting called to order by Mr [?] Mayor protem
Present VR Peirson, CR Hepler and J Hellenthal, councilmen
absent Mayor Reeves, councilmen Campbell + [Warnack?]
Upon motion seconded and carried the resignation
of Mr [T Warnack?] as councilman was accepted
Communication from JA Campbell requesting
leave of absence November [crossed out] October [1st?] 1899 read and accepted.
City Attorney [responded?] bond of Mr HHa[?] and wife good.
An ordinance amending ordinance No.28 was
by unanimous vote adopted
Mr H. Marshal was by unanimous vote elected to fill
vacany caused by resignation of [T Warnack?] as councilman
whereupon Mr Marshal was sworn and qualified as such
councilman.
It was moved and seconded that Mr Hellenthal
procure two bulletin boards on which [lawn?] ordinances
and notices might be posted.
An ordinance was passed amending
ordinance No 71 relative to licensing dogs.
JS Dudley was instructed to prepare an index to
the town ordinances.
The clerk was instructed to prepare and post and
publish a notice to contractors to bid on water
reservoir
The following warrants were ordered drawn on
current expense [sheet?]
To DB Burbank for $3.00 for work on reservoir
To MA Basket for 9.00 for work on road
To Guy Gro[?] for 6.57 for work on road
To Joe Hellenthal for 6.57 for work on road
To AH Hepler for .50 for nails -
To VR Peirson for 1.93 for hardware -
To CR Hepler for 11.90 for lumber.
