To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle:

Gentlemen: The undersigned, your petitioners, residents and property owners in that district of the City of Seattle lyring north of Depot Street, respectfully represents to your Honorable body as follows:

That said district lying north of Deport street and extending through that portion of Seattle known as Queen Anne Town, is thickly settled and rapidly growing; that said district is entirely without fire protection, and that there is great danger of a disastrous fire occuring there, as, if a fire should get started, there would be no means of checking it.

Wherefore, your petitioners respectfully pray your Honorable body that at least ten fire plugs be located and put up at different points within said district, the location of game to be left to the Chief of the Fire Department; and your petitioners further pray that a hose cart be stationed on the Queen Anne Town Hill at some point to be selected by the Chief of the Fire Department.

And your petitioners will ever pray.
