day. The stem is rather weak with many joints, reaching the
length of one or two feet. It is much like crab grass. Two
petals are large rounded and blue, while the third is tiny
and colorless; the whole flower peeps out from a clasping,
heart-shaped leaf or spathe. It flowers from June to August
in the woods or fields and around the house.
