1864. 1st mo. 1st. 1864. 6th day. Cleared off cold, before dinner: father away nearly all day on business for B. Downes: Lucy came home from Burnside after dinner. William at the Cottage after tea.

2d. 7th. day. Clear and cold: Mercury down to 1 this morning. Kate spent the day here: Joe and William both out somewhere after supper: William at Joshua Gilpins I think.

3d. 1st. day. Clear and cold: John Stabler called here before meeting; Joe and William went to S. Brooke's mill dam in the afternoon to skate: Lucy went to Sharon and to the mill dam awhile, then to Phil's to stay all night; Joe at Phil's after supper; William at Sulford to supper.

4th. 2d. day Cloudy, begun to snow by 10 oclock, snowed all day: Mercury 18 early in the morning: Joe went to Washington: Lucy came home from Phil's in the morning; William at Ashton to a "scale meeting" after supper: Cutting ice in the morning

5th. 3d. day Cleared off cold and windy about noon: father went to Higgins [?] after dinner: Joe came home from Washington William at Joshua Gilpins and Uncle E. Thomas [?] after supper.

6th.

Cloudy till toward evening, then cleared off: Mercury 17 this morning: at monthly meeting: Aunt Rebecca and Mollie [?] came here from meeting, staid 'till after supper: Uncle William here to supper: Arther here after supper: William at the store after supper: Robert [?] here in the afternoon/in a sleigh/ to look at William's [?].

5th. day.

Clear morning, clouded up in the afternoon: snowed some at night: Lucy at Harewood and Gideon's in the afternoon, she and William at the Reading Circle in the evening; Mary Brooke came home with them: father at Uncle Samuel's and Ashton in the morning, at the Mill Tree Rush in the afternoon.

8th.

6th. day.

Snowed for two hours in the morning, cleared off about noon: Lucy and Mary Brooke went to the Cottage late in the afternoon, William there after supper: for hauling wood all day.

9th.

7th. day.

Clear and cold. Emily came in the stage, Brother came as far as Warwick Millers in the stage the there for him: Joe at Ashton after supper: Charlie Brooke brought Emily down from the store. Mercury 18 at 5 o clock, 13 at 8.

10th.

1st. day.

Clear day. Lucy and Mary Brooke came from the Cottage before meeting: Mary went home after meeting: Fred Stabler dined here: Henry, Mary and Belle Stabler called here

7th 5th day Clear morning, clouded up in the afternoon: snowed some at night: Lucy at Harewood and Gideon's in the afternoon, she and William at the Reading Circle in the evening: Mary Brooke came home with them: father at Uncle Samuel's and Ashton in the morning, at the mill to see Rush in the afternoon,

8th 6th day Snowed for two hours in the morning, cleared of about noon: Lucy and Mary Brook went to the Cottage late in the afternoon, William there after supper: Joe hauling wood all day. Ans eaesy 13 at 8 oclock

9th 7th day Clear and cold. Emily came in the stage, Brother came as far as Warwick Millers in the stage Joe was [waiting?] him there for him: Joe at Ashton after supper: Charlie Brook brought Emily down from the store mercury 18 at 5 ocloclk, 13 at 8.

10th 1st day Clear day. Lucy and Mary Brook came from the Cottage before meeting: Mary went home after meeiing: Fred Stabler dined here: Henry, Mary and Belle Stalber called here

in the afternoon: Joe and brother went to Guilford to call in the afternoon. General [?], his wife and one of his Aids at meeting. William took brother and Joe to Uncle Calebs to stay all night on their way to B. Lucy at Harewood to supper

11th.

2d. day.

Clear and not very cold: William at the Insurance office most of the morning helping R. Moore: I called to see Sarah Gilpin in the afternoon: William at Brooke Grove after supper to a surprise party: father at Henry Harris's in the afternoon Arnold [Waters?] here to see him in the morning; Joe went to Baltimore.

12th.

3d. day.

Clear day.. father went to Rockville. Lucy called at Harewood and Bentleys in the morning; then went to Guilford and staid all night: I went to Harewood awhile in the afternoon. William at Dr. Palmers after supper - Uncle Samuel and Aunt Lizzie here after supper.

13th.

4th. day

Cloudy most of the day: snowed a little in the afternoon. Mary Lizzie Moore after the day spent the day here, William came to supper: Lucy went to the Cottage after supper: Uncle William here before meeting: Lucy came to meeting from Guilford, their home. cold.

14th.

5th day

Clear and pleasant. Father and Mother went to Uncle Samuel's in the morning, Mother went to Joshua Gilpin's in the afternoon; William went to her after supper Aunt Nancy here awhile in the morning.
