a dreamy good by and soon after I was
with the aid of Mr Harry Post in the possession
of a scalper's ticket aticket which I
secured for about four dollars less than
the regular price. I was under agreement
with the person from whom I purchased
the ticket to assume the name of Louis
Suckling, to state if questioned by the
conductors that I was from New Orleans
bound for Norfolk Va. The early part of
my journey was taken up in fears of
detection and I nervously practised my part
of Louis Suckling to the best of my ability.
As it happened though I passed all roads
with out bad luck from that point and
in fact from any obstacle. I started about
3 PM on a bright sunny Southern day, the
scenery of course to Danville on not necessary
to note as I have them written in
my account of my trip South. At Danville Va
on the next day we changed cars from Piedmont
Air Line and steamed for Richmond. The incidents
are few for the journey and in fact
beyond the knowledge that are progress
was conciderably impeded by a hot box I
remember very little of the trip until I arrived
at Richmond which is quite a beautiful
