v chapt: 14-15 verses - preached (an excellent
sermon) and then spoiled the effect by
begging money for the purpose of establishing
another proffessorship to the "Lincoln
University" a Negro institution near
Oxford, they have already been endowed
with $80,000 and want $20,000 more
making $100,000 to be invested in the laudable
enterprise of making "silk purses of sows
ears" Set a broken finger for Tommy Linton/

Monday June 15th Lent David "Colonel
to ride down to Oak Hill. Wrote to sister
[Bulan] [Jiming] commenced harrowing
corn and finished the fence around the
potato patch in the afternoon.
