Sunday July 12th Went to Chestnut Level Church Mr Rutter preached from 11. Corenthius 5. Chap. 14-15 Verses. Very Warm- Chas: Pusey came over in the afternoon to inform me that he could not well come to cut wheat for me tomorrow but would commence the next day without fail (weather permiting)

Monday July 13th Went to the Grove in the morning got "Pidge's" front shoes removed, engaged hands to work with the wheat tomorrow. J Boyd worked corn in the fore noon he and I went to the Grove in the afternoon, he went to Centre Ville after supper for the Reaper and brought 3. bushels of feed from Long's mill which was charged to me at 95. c pr bushJno: McPherson called in the evening for some advice & medicine. David had a convulsion last night (slight one).
Tuesday July 14th John Wallace, Edwin Watkins, Chris: Taylor & Clayton Watson came in the morning and worked all day. Chas: Pusey & John Bishop came and got started at Reaping with the machine about 1/2 past 8 o clock, using my three horses until night. J.B. & I hauled in one load of wheat but found it not dry enough and concluded

July 14th to leave it until tomorrow Wrote an answer to Bro: Cha's letter and sent it to the office by Clayt: Watson. Mr Rutter and Mrs Person called in the evening for advise for a child of their girl's. Weather intensely hot. thermometer 95º in the shade at 3 p.m.- and 82º at this time 10. p.m.
Wednesday July 15th John Wallace worked all day, Ed: Watkins, Christ: Taylor & Clayt Watson until supper time. C Pusey Reapt: all day. We finished Reaping and binding the "ten acre field" and made a good beginning in the "spring house field" I "Raked off" of the Reaper after supper and J.B. & John Wallace hauled in a load of wheat. Quite as warm as yesterday thermometer 95º whilst we were eating supper.

Thursday July 16th Chas: Pusey & John Bishop came in the morning and finished cutting the wheat about 4 o'clock. J.B & I hauled in one load of wheat. Jerry Boyd came after dinner and helped haul in the ballance of the day. Jimmy helped C Pusey take his Reaper home. Paid J. B. $2.00. Mr L. C. Rutter came over after me to see Bridget Brogan's child. Reached home from there at 9 p.m.
Friday July 17th Christopher Smith came after me about day light, went with him to see his wife. J.B & David hauled in wheat finishing the "ten acre field" except the Rakings just at night. I went to Mr Rutters to see B.B's child. got home between 9 & 10 p.m.

Went over to the "Union" with "Kitty" and to Dr Andrews to borrow a trocar and canula Henry Wilkie made me a present of a tame young fox which I brought home with me in the carriage. J. Sunday July 19th Went to John McPhersons and operated upon him for permenant cure of hydrocele the case has been operated upon once before by Dr Deaver and is not as favorable a case as might be. Extremely warm, Recieved a letter from D W Patterson and answered it.
