Monday May 21 65 degrees Clear N.W.
Lovely day after the shower last night.
Went to office. Sunday professional caller's
went to Peter Nelson's, Grand turn out
of the Colored "Benevelent Societies", in
honor of "Whitsuntide". Mrs Jno M
Smith called at house and office.
Jno: Rideout called for advice and med:
Sister B took tea here, another thunder shower.
Thos and Hally Lea came and spent evening with
us.

Tuesday May 22 68 degrees Clear N.W.
Beautiful morning. B R Roberts called on
way to Rockville. Catherine Williams came to
wash. I went to Brookville to call
on Dr A. Riggs, thence to Mr E J Halls
where I dined. Much cooler towards
Evening and through the night. Several
thunder storms passed around and
near us. Recd and answered letter from D.M.C.

Wednesday May 23 60 degrees clear N.W.
Quite cool had fire in dining room
at breakfast. H T Lea staid all night
with us last night. Benj Tucker here
for advice and such. C Waters had tooth
extracted. Went to office and to "Brighton"
dined at E. Peirces'. Went to Henry Stablers' and
got Tomato and cabbage plants. Hannah Chandlee
and two Leadbeater boys spent afternoon with us.
Tom Snowden called for advice for son.

Thrusday May 24 44 degrees Clear N.W.
Unusually cold: had fire in dining
room all day. Went to Tom Snowdens'
and called at third Edwd Stabler's, Mrs.
Jno: Abel called for advice for son--
Took Dora to Mary Chandlee's and went on
to Robt: Awkard's, called for her on
my return. Martha Lea call to
see Harriet.

Friday May 25 51 degrees Clear & Cloudy N.W
Jas: Stabler called before I was up to
see about our wanting more hay. I went to
Tom Snowden's and Sandy Springs. Mrs Chalfant
buried her interesting little daughter in the "fr[i]ends
burial ground." Mrs Benj: Miller called
for advice and meds: Presented for Jenny Dorsey.
Planted out more tomato plants. hauled lumber
(500 ft shingle lath & 200 ft boards) from saw
mill. Ernest and Frank Gilpin returned from falls
of Potomac.

Saturday May 26th 64 degrees Clear N.W.
Weather more moderate. Charley and I went
to Riverside and Leawood Mills. Got mantle piece
and Brackets sawed out for mantle piece in the
parlor, dined at Riverside. A G. Thomas, Miss
Lizzie Scott and ___ Murphy called after
tea. I went to Jno M Smith's to a "Reception"
given to Saml Hopkins & bride and Tom Smith &
bride. Enjoyed myself exceedingly.
