31. Clearing. E. Ther. Thurs. Feb. 5, 1885 Wea.

After breakfast I drove over to J James Shoemaker's place & prescribed for Jas. Johnson's son. Albert Chandlee called for medicine for his father. Afternoon Remus Hill here & had tooth extracted. Albert Chandlee sent for me to come over & see his father again. I rode "Fritz" over & back about dark. The roads are getting bad again "sloppy & muddy."

30 Snow. N.E. Ther. Fri. Feb. 6, 1885 Wea.

Miss Lizzie Scott sent for advice & medicine, writing a note & complaining of "acute rheumatism". Afternoon I drove the black horse to the phaeton over to Mahlon Chandlee's and to Geo. Sprigg's, & engaged Robt Awkard to come & repair the thatch of the ice house. he to come on Monday next. Frank Snowden spent the evening here playing whist.

30o Cloudy E Ther. Sat. Feb. 7th , 1885 Wea.

About home all day. Willie drove "Fox" over to "Riverside" to the phaeton & brought Nelly Iddings and her two children home with him to spend some time with us. Willie took the spring wagon & went over to "Ingleside" & brought home bundles of rye straw for the ice house roof. "Charley" Nelson here & had two teeth extracted. My "Camman's perfected Bin aural Stethoscope arrived by mail from "Chas Lentz" Philada.

30 Cloudy. N.E. Ther. Sun. Feb. 8, 1885 Wea.

The entire family staid at home all day, except that Walter Scott came and took me over to prescribe for Lizzie towards night he having called here & got medicine &c for her in the morning. Neither of our horses were out of the stable to day except for water, which is very unusual. Frank Snowden & Ernest were here to tea & spent the evening.

31o Cloudy & Rain. N.E. Ther. Mon. Feb. 9th, 1885 Wea.

After sending Charley down to Ashton I took the "Fox" horse to the phaeton & John and drove over to see Miss Lizzie Scott, & from there over to Josiah Bowen's & home to dinner. Singleton Mitchell here. Philip T Stabler called for a duplicate bill & receipt for professional services render to his father, they having lost or mislaid the original. Sent John over to Riverside for Nelly's trunk, in the spring wagon driving the "Fox" horse, also sent him down after Charley just after dark.

25o Clear & Snow NW Tues. Feb. 10th, 1885

Miss Alice Tyson sent Jno. Tasko" with a note for me to prescribe for her. Willie was not well enough to go to school the weather being extremely disagreeable early in the morning. Ernest came & spent most of the day: he & Willie "sand papered" & polished the old card table of Dora's. I sent John over to Josiah Bowen's with medicine ("Ext Pink Root & Sennae oil:) I was at home all day. Walter Scott called & reported his sister "Lizzie" much better.

0 Clear. N.W. Ther. Wed. Feb. 11th, 1885 Wea.

Extremely cold with high wind from N.W. Afternoon I drove down to Ashton to prescribe for Louisa Painter Sent John to J J Shoemakers to see about wood. Ned Hill called & paid me $1.00.

4o Clear. N.W. Ther. Thurs. Feb. 12th, 1885 Wea.

I drove down to Ashton and had "Fox" shod in front got Glass for diploma and put it in the frame. Lizzie Lea came & dined with us also Alice & Fanny Pierce. Frank Leizear took Dora's old "card table to dress off the top. Ernest came here before tea time and the young folks played whist all the evening. I wrote to the Commissioner of Pensions, Washington DC

18. Cloudy & Snow NE Ther. Fri. Feb. 13th, 1885 Wea.

The weather looks like an old fashioned "snow storm" commenced about 11.30 am snowing fine & dry as flour. Got some new stair carpet & Dora put it down. Ernest here in the afternoon & got some black paint. After tea Frank Snowden brought Fanny Stabler and the young folks had a game of whist again. Sent John up to Sandy Spring for coal oil after dark. J. Snowden came in his sleigh.

22o Cloudy & Snow NE Ther. Sat. Feb. 14th, 1885 Wea.

Threatning to snow again and commenced about noon. I drove over to "Osceola", & prescribed for Ed Davis, at request of Jno M Smith who called & asked me to go. Also called to see Josiah Bowen. Recd from Mrs Jas. G Boss, Postal "money order" for ballance of their bill ($18.00), from Washington D.C.
