19o Cloudy & Clearing variable Ther. Sun. Feb. 15th, 1885 Wea.

Snow about 6 inches deep, but the weather is moderating & the snow soft. Many sleighs came to meeting. Charley took "Fritz" to the sleigh & drove down to Ashton & then took Edward & Fanny a little sleigh ride up the road & back. Afternoon he drove the roan mare to T J Lea's & home to supper. Bro C & Joe Paxson Iddings came & spent an hour or two. Ernest came & Willie went with him to "Elton" in his buggy expecting to return before night, but did not. Richd Proctor's infant son "Dennis", died this morning Ernest brought Willie home about 8 .o'clock, to supper and put his horse away to stay all night.

32. Hail Rain & Snow. N.E. & N.W. Ther. Mon. Feb.16, 1885 Wea.

Very stormy morning but the wind came around to NW about 10 am & the sun came out. After dinner Willie & Charley went to Ashton in the sleigh to get a new "basket body" put on it. Sleighing very sloppy & bad, but if it continues cold, will be better after dark. Sent roan mare to Budd's shop & had her "roughed all around". The big horse "Jumbo" slipped in coming out of the stable to go for Charley, & falling, injured one of his hind legs; how seriously I can hardly decide at once. Sent "money order" $2.50 to C. Lentz Philada for "patent twist fever thermometer. After supper Charley went in the sleigh to a ball or "fandango" at the Academy at Brookville taking Fanny Stabler with him from Harewood. He came home at 1.15 a.m.

5o Clear N.W. Ther. Tues. Feb. 17th, 1885 Wea.

Willie started for school but the mare "pitched him over his head" about "Sharp St." & he came home again with a lame knee. John White here for advice & med. for his infant son. Afternoon I took Dora in the sleigh over to Scott's to call upon the "bride" Sent Willie to Harewood to see about getting some wood and to pay for what we have got up to this time. He engaged a cord of "hickory" to be sent tomorrow morning.

16o Clear. N.W . Ther. Wed.Feb.18th 1885 Wea.

I drove Charley down to Ashton after dinner taking Edwd. with me for a sleigh ride. Afternoon I drove up to see sister Beulah at Fulford in the sleigh. I fixed a Japan, or Chianees umbrella as a "centre piece" in the "hall" over the hanging lamp. it looks very well. Willie went to school again driving the roan mare to the sulky. Moab White here for advice & medidcine for himself. Arthur Stabler's team hauled us a cord of hickory wood at two loads.

16 Clear. N.W. Ther. Thurs.Feb.19th , 1885 Wea.

Willie drove to school in the sulkey. I went to Ashton in the sleigh, brought C home to dinner & took him down again taking "Nelly" also to do some "shopping". Willie & I went afternoon & had our hair cut at "Fletch" Clarks Singleton Mitchell here for advice & med for J Bowen. After tea Frank Snowden C Haslup & Ed. Chalfant came to play whist. I recd patent twist self registering fever thermometer, from C Lentz Phila.

6o Clear N.W. Thr. Fri. Feb. 20th, 1885 Wea.

Very cold the wind blowing strong from N.W. P.J. Stabler's team brought us 1 1/2 cords of oak wood. The sleighing continues tolerably good, there being very little snow, but roads covered with ice. I walked up to Sandy Spring Store for coal oil &c I "tinkered at squirrel cage" &c.

2o degrees Clear. NW Ther. Sat. Feb. 21, 1885 Wea.

Still very cold. I went to Ashton & had zinc pan made for the reel of the squirrel cage Willie & John brought about 200 lbs of hay, on the spring wagon from John C Bentley's. J J Shoemaker's team brought us a cord of oak wood & promised to bring another on Monday next, to settle Jim Johnson's account. Recd: telegraphic despach from J. Tyson after dinner, and he arrived here at 5.25 pm from Laurel, Mills tend sending him up.

12o degrees Clear. N.W. Ther. Sun. Feb. 22, 1885 Wea.

Fine winter day. I staid at home all day. Charley took T.Tyson to Riverdale. Willie also rode over to have a "skate". Walter Scott called & got some Ext Eucalyptic, promising to return it. I suffered with a very bad headache all day.

16. Clear. NW Ther. Mon. Feb. 23, 1885 Wea.

Another beautiful winter day. I took F. Tyson in the phaeton with "Fritz" and called at Grove Hill to see Lizzie Tyson and on to Edwd Pierce's & to "Brighton" Store where I got a "Sinus Speculum" & paid for it. I sent F. Tyson to Pennyborough John driving him with "Jumbo" to the phaeton. After tea Bro Chas. came & we had music whist &c.

18o Cloudy. NW. Ther. Tues. Feb. 24, 1885 Wea.

All of us up early to get F. Tyson off in the stage for Balto. Willie was not well enough to go to school having increased his cold again sleeping in parlor on the sofa. Dora has also taken cold from lodging out of her own room, & Edward has a bad sore throat. We have had a very pleasant visit from my old friend FT & he seemed to enjoy it also. Commenced snowing about 4. o'clk p.m. H recd a document from L K Brown which she signed & remailed to him, at once. Rachael Proctor's sister washed for H.
