Left page Ther: 24 degrees Cloudy Misty & Threatening Wind N.E. Tuesday, February 11th, 1890 Joshua Cook was here for medicine for himself & blister ointment for his mother. I drove over to see old Julia Green calling at Ashton as I returned. Willie going with me. R. R. Moore Jr's team brought us a load of saw'd oak wood in the morning and another in the afternoon (a cord in each load). Dora Alice Peirce & Willie "reupholstered" the "sofa bedstead" in the dining room, putting on a new cover and taking out the old springs. Afternoon I hired the boys next door to help me put the wood in the wood house. After supper Willie went with Louis Scofield to Brighton Grange Hall to a dance. I received and answd letter from F. Tyson. Alice Peirce walked home towards evening. Willie came home about ll.oclk pm with Louis Scofield from the dance at Brighton.

Right page Ther: 32 degrees Foggy & Clearing Wind Wednesday, February 12th, 1890 Bell was here to see Charley about his wife & for medicine which I gave him. I finished writing to F. Tyson and drove to Ashton where I mailed the letter & got some medicine etc. Phil Robison going with me. Willie went with Louis Scofield on a business trip somewhere down towards Washington. Rosina Bowen's daughter (Martha) was here for ointment for her mother and a young woman (Miss Curtis) who is at Jno Oldfield's was here & had a tooth extracted. Afternoon two women from Bill Dorseys were here to consult about a threatened gathered breast. Willie came home about dinner time Fanny Pierce came about 3.oclk p.m. for a visit to Dora. Mr Tatum was here to see Willie and after supper W went with him over to Bells' or rather they expected to go there but changed their plans and went to Scotts instead and were at home soon after 10.oclk.

Left page Ther: 30 degrees Cloudy & Clearing Wind S.E. Thursday, February 13, 1890 Charley came home from Riverside about 10.oclock this morning. "Bill" Dorsey's women were here again to see Charley. I walked up to "Billy" Oldfield's shop before dinner. Harriet had some old colored woman wash for her this morning. Louis Oldfield's little boy Frank was here and had two teeth extracted Charley taking them out for him. After supper W took Fanny Peirce home.

Right page Gher: 47 degrees Foggy Cloudy Rain & Clearing Wind Variable Friday, February 14th, 1890 Very disagreeable morning and indeed until afternoon when it tried to clear off after raining and blowing very hard from S.E. Afternoon I drove down to Ashton taking Charley with me to Tilman Mitchells where he went to see a sick boy. Saul Budd's wife was here to see us about a black smith bill against C & myself. The roads (off the turnpike) are in a wretched condition since the powerful rains this morning. There was no school to day, the Teachers Institue "being held in Rockville to which Miss Sally has gone. Mrs. Robison was here to consult me and gave me the money to send to Dr. M F Linquest New Haven Conn: ($2.00) for a "Swedish A.B. Supporter." I wrote and enclosed a "money order" to him Willie taking it up to the P.O. & Saul Wetheraled attended to it. After supper Charley & Willie went to the Good Templars Lodge at Olney. Willie was working at making a "dog cart" using my old sulkey running gear and the hard wheels from the Spring wagon: which I fear is an unwise move in [point of economy].

Left page Ther: 40 degrees Clearing N.W. Saturday, February 15th, 1890 The wind commenced blowing from N.W. during last night & is strong this morning from that quarter. Charley started at 7.oclock a.m. for "Damascus" as a delegate from the Olney Lodge of G.T. to a convention held there by the District Lodge. He intends driving from there this afternoon to Glenwood Howard Co: where he will pass the night & come home tomorrow. I drove down to see Tilgluman Mitchell's little boy for Charley. He is a very sick child. Willie went with me: we called at Ashton & left "Book Club" books. Was sent for "in haste" and went to infant son of "Harry" Gilpin's at Mrs. Rachel Gilpins about ll.oclk a.m. he had been attacked with a "convulsion" & was better when I arrived as is mostly the case in such attacks. Willy drove me up there. Towards evening they sent for me again the child having had another "spasm." Willie & I went up again & were at home before sunset. The boys from next door came after tea and played games with Edwd all the evening until bedtime.

Right page Ther: 22 degrees Clear Wind N.W. Sunday, February 16th, 1890 Quite cold this moring and indeed all day. I drove up to "Avalon" & prescribed again for Harry Gilpins infant son. Also drove down to Tilghuman Mitchell's to see his son "Osburn." Bro: Richard called on his way to meeting. I was sent for to go to see Martha Ann Wright at Rachel Thomas' and must try to go tomorrow they were also here from Harry [Green's]. Afternoon Willie rode "Fritz" up to Brighton church in [ ] with Louis Scofield and home to supper. Tilman Mitchell's boy was here for medicine for his baby. Charles came home about 8.oclock and Willie was home in time for supper.

Left page Ther: 30 degrees Clear & Cloudy Wind S.E. Monday, February 17th, 1890 It was cold enough to freeze the ground last night but soon moderated & was quite warm through the day. I rode "Fritz" to Rachel Gilpin's to see their little boy "Donald" and from there to Rachael Thomas' to see Martha Ann Wright. Chas Bond was here for medicine for "Joseph." Charley drove down the turnpike to see various patients & did not get home until after dinner time. Afternoon Willie went to the public sale of Geo: L. Stabler's mill property. Martha Bowen was here for med: for her mother Remus Hill Jr: was here for :med for little Donald Gilpin. Charley rode over to see old Robt Lincoln on horse back towards evening and did not return until after Hammond sent us a load of hay arriving after dark, the wagon having broken down on the road. Chrley had to help unload the hay Willie having gone away with Louis Scofield. Mrs Robertson was in after supper to consult me.

Right page Ther: 40 degrees Cloudy & Clearing Wind S.W. Tuesday, February 18th, 1890 Willie came home about midnight last. "Minnie" called here for an hour or two. Charley drove down the turnpike to see some patients. I walked up to see Jas Henderson in regard to school affairs. Sister Beulah & Hannah Chandler took dinner & spent the day here After supper Willie rode over to Mr Amos Holland's. I drove up to Avalon before dinner to see little Donald Gilpin again.

Left page Ther: 31 degrees Cloudy & Clearing Wind N.W. Wednesday, February 19th, 1890 Much cooler this morning. I drove down to Ashton for some medicine Charley going with me and drove on to see old Julia Green whilst I was in the store. We both stopped at Tilghman Mitchell's to see his boy who is extremely low. I afterwards drove up to "Avalon" to see Harry Gilpin's little boy again C going with me. After dinner Willie took Dora to Edward Peirce's. I worked at repairing Edwd violin glueing it etc. "Swedish" abdominal bandage came by mail for Mrs: Robison & I took it over for her. Dora & Willie came home just after dark by which time it was raining quite fast & steadily. Louis Scofield called to see Charley before supper time. Mrs. Robinson brought her supporter bandage over to me for some explanation advice etc. at supper time. It turned out to be a dark rainy evening. "Gus" [Bulwat] sent up for Charley at about 9.30 p.m. and [he] went down through the pouring rain & darkness walking. He came home about mid night.

Right page Ther: 35 degrees Cloudy Wind S.E. Thursday, February 20th, 1890 Cloudy & disagreeable until about noon. Charley drove over to see Robt Lincoln and drove to Mitchells. Afternoon, he went over to Mr. Amos Holland's and brought Miss Katy Matthews here to take tea & spend the evening. Alice & Fanny Peirce came to spend the night. I walked up to A F Fainall's shop to prove our account against the Estate of Caleb [Pusuphney] Sr: I also walked up to the mill for the papers. Jno: Mitchell was here for medicine for Bob Lincoln C went down to Ashton soon after breakfast and succeeded in relieving "Bulwar" by extracting a tooth which he could not do last night owing to the extreme soreness of his mouth and the resistance he opposed (involuntarily) to his efforts to do so. After returning from Mr. Holland's C went again to see Tilghman Mitchell's little boy, who is extremely low and not likely to survive to night. Charley took Miss Katy Mathews back to Amos Holland's after spending the evening here, starting from here at about 9.oclk. It was cold & windy & they will have anything but a pleasant ride.
