Nov: 19th Thursday
Still very cold; I am afraid
Edwd's flowers are, many of them
injured if not ruined by the frost: he
had them in the south room. After
dinner I walked to Ashton with John
Bentley and up to the mill twice.
Mahlon Kirk Jr: brought us a load
of green oak wood. Sam Johnson
was here in the evening and paid me
his account in full. "Clifford" went
out to spend the evening after tea.
Edward still not well enough to
go to school during this "cold spell"
which has come upon us so suddenly.
