Clear & Cloudy
Ther. 30 MON. FEB 27, 1893 N.W. S E Wind

Ground frozen hard this morning,
but soon became sloppy
& muddy. Bro R & Sister Lizzy
called for a short time this
a.m. Afternoon there was
a sort of "Scrubb" trotting race
gotten up at a sale in Howard
Co. to trot from Sandy Spring
to Ashton for $25.00 "a side,"
but was a failure. One of the
horses, "running" whenever
he was pushed the parties
making the race were Ayers
& "Marlow", both Howard Co.
people.

Rain & Sleet
Ther 31o Tuesday Feb 28th Wind N.E,

Commenced Raining & sleeting
before midnight last and continued
all day to day. I went to
the store & afternoon up to
the mill. This has been one
of the most disagreeable days
we have had in a long time
and is hard upon "Rheumatics".
I have felt stiff sore and blue
all day. I called at Gideon
Gilpin's to see E about getting
more coal. I also called at
the toll house.
