Ther. 50 Thurs. May 4^th, Wind N.W.

It rained all last night, and
was as stormy a night as I
can remember in a long time
past. the wind blew with great
violence from N.E. & at times it
rained "in torrents." It cleared
off after sunrise & the wind
blew from N:W. strong all day
Clifford Waters came in with
Willie last night & remained
until this morning. Afternoon
Willie rode "Frank" trying to
"collect" for me, & afterwards went
to E Peirces to supper.

Willie started out on horse back
again "collecting." Walter Scott
was here & shewd Harriet & Dora
his "Steam cooking aparatus".
Afternoon I walked down to
Ashton & rode back with W. Scott.
"Hettie" Alcorn sent a little girl
to the office with $1.50 on account
of her bill, shewing more honesty
& appreciation of what I have done
for them than her miserable husband.
