Still quite cold, Edward staid
all night at "Fairfield" & only came
home about sunset this evening.
Jas. T. Henderson called to see me
about school affairs. I walked
down to "Bloomfield" to see Hallie
Bentley about her little boy "Morris"
who was said to have been badly
beaten by one of the boys & his
mother, near the toll house, as
Morris was going home from school
at noon. I called at Henderson's
after supper. Edwd went to John
Thomas' ("Clifton") near Ednor to a
party: he went on horseback.
